Amazon confirmed the closeure of Amazon Restaurants in the U.S., which case to operate June 24 according to Techcrunch.com.
Amazon restaurant which first launched in fall 2015 expanded over 20 U.S. cities and later in London. The service offer their members to get meals delivered to their door using the Amazon Restaurants website or through Prime Now shopping app.
Fierce Competition
The service faced much competition from local rivals like Grubhub, Uber Eats, Doordash, and Postmates among others.

Amazon has largely failed to be a significant player in restaurant delivery. This decision to quit restaurant food delivery service has had a positive impact on rivals. The company still delivers groceries from Whole Foods via Prime Now in nearly 100 U.S. markets.
